Subject: Patterson Pass Rd. Sunday AM
I spent some time today on Patterson Pass rd. hoping to finding Blue
Grosbeak nestlings near Rd marker 6.21
No luck.
The adult BG'S seen regularly the past several weeks were not visible
today.
However between Rd marker 6.04 and 6.21 there are many Lark Sparrows.
Slightly southwest of Rd Marker 6.21 has a Brewer Black Bird family, an
adult feeding a single young BBB.
The male BBB was catching and feeding the young bird what appeared to be
Cabbage White Butterflies
Cow Birds are still present in the area.
A pair of Western King Birds are also present at 6.21.
East to Rd marker 7.14 I ran on a family of coyotes.
About that time W.Kyda of Berkeley area, arrived and she to was checking
out the Blue Grosbeak population status.
Together we found a pair of Burrowing Owls on a boulder to the north of
Rd marker 7.14 parking/pull out area.
