Today close to 10:30 AM here were 5 Swainson's Hawks, 11 Great Blue
Herons, 3 Great Egrets, 1 Golden Eagle, many Ravens and crows. Also a
small flock of Tri Color Black Birds were present on the fields at the
junction of Lindemann and Herdlyn Rd. in eastern Alameda County/Contra
Costa County.

Subject: [EBB Sightings] birding windmill way
Although we sadly missed the spectacle of a field covered in
multi-morphed feathered predators, snarfing voles like there was no
tomorrow, we did observe a light phase Swainson's hawk, flying directly
overhead, with said vole clutched in his/her talons; somewhere, the
feast continues. There was a dark-morph Swainson's as well, both rising
up from a field along Mountain House Rd. The flat, mostly seer fields,
incessant wind and ominous (at least if you are a raptor, or raptor
sympathizer) and ubiquitous windmill silhouettes made for a most
unpleasant birding locale.
