Hi All-
Just to report on a beautiful day on Mt. Diablo from top to bottom. Many
singing CA thrashers were evident around Juniper campground. I ran into a flock of
about 25 warblers, mostly townsend's but a few hermits there. There seems to
be a high elevation migration (<2000'). Lower down, yellow warblers were seen,
and orange-crowned warblers feeding fully grown young. I think I identified a
vesper sparrow. It looked like a song sparrow with a smudgy vest and vague
central spot. I missed the white tip edging to the tail and bay wingbar but saw
an eye ring. In all about 50 species of songbirds, wonderful clouds and cool
temps.
