All,
I made a recon tour of Mitchell Canyon today in preparation for an
upcoming Palo Alto Adult School class trip to the area. Activity was
high, despite a late start on my part, with many beautiful flowers and
birds. Highlights along the main creek trail included the singing
LAZULI BUNTINGS, with no fewer than 8 separate males gleaming brightly
in full view, and a male HERMIT WARBLER pointed out to me by three
other birders. It was a wonderful, though too short visit.
