Driving back today from Pinnacles National Monument (where a condor was
one of our perched, campground birds), we struck many painted ladies
along Hwy. 25.  They caught in our windshield wipers, and made big
yellow smears on our glass. Yucko. Guess they are having a synchronous
California hatch.
