I saw two burrowing owls today in the field on the
northeast corner of Dublin/Tassajara. They were VERY
skittish when I tried to approach for a shot. I
immediately left when one flew off, and I don't plan
on going back for photos, since I know they're
somewhat threatened and it's nesting season. If you
see them, please be aware of how skittish they are. I
was a little surprised, since the ones in Cesar Chavez
park would probably let you pick them up if you tried!
Are they known for being so shy? Maybe it was my
tripod, since birds sometimes get scared by it.
No luck along the Iron Horse Parkway or by Sybase,
must have been the clouds and wind keeping them in
their burrows.
