Unfortunately you are correct on the new construction, it is due to begin soon. There will be over one million tons of earth moved. My understanding is that there is a 1200+ unit complex (HOA) to be built. Please pray for the birds.....

the SE corner of Dublin Blvd and Iron Horse Parkway
(the road, not the bike trail). For the past two
months it's only hosted a pair of ducks as far as I
can tell, but in the past two weeks, it's gotten
popular with a couple stilts, a couple willets (I
think, from a distance), and yesterday even a snowy
egret. I usually park along Iron Horse Parkway and
just noticed the popularity last week. Nothing
unusual, but for those of you who go to Dublin BART,
it's worth a look. It's amazing that some shorebirds
spotted this little patch of standing water this far
inland, and then the comfort level and interest only
rises as passing birds see other birds hanging out in
    it.

As an aside, construction is apparently about to begin
in the grassy field on Dublin Blvd between DeMarcus
and Iron Horse (the two entrance roads). I guess all
those blackbirds will have to leave. They also tore
up a big chunk of the field that has the standing
water but it didn't scare off the shorebirds.
Fortunately I've never seen any burrowing owls in
those fields (but the Sybase owls are still visible
    almost daily).
