Dear EBBers,
Yesterday's EBRPD walk around the mitigation marsh yielded great looks at
a performing Peregrine falcon, and for most of us, the season's first
phalarope--a secondary-plumaged female red-necked phalarope on the
southwestern pond. Many Canadas, avocets, stilts, and killdeer
(apparently) on nests in the fenced area were also visible. All the
shorebirds, including a group of semipalmated plovers, are a treat to see
in breeding colors, too.
Good birding to all,
Terry Coddington
