    Hi East Bay Birders,

For the past two weeks a Cooper's Hawk has been in my backyard tree at =
daybreak calling softly. Yesterday it became clear why, the pair seems =
to have selected my 60 - 70 foot high tree as a nest site. Yesterday =
there was much flying around by both adults, stick carrying and =
defending the tree from the White-tailed Kites that come to the tree in =
the early morning and late evening. Needles to say this has really =
cramped my backyard bird feeding. This morning I went out to fill the =
feeders and I didn't need to, the feeders are still full.=20

PS: Yesterdays SFBBO survey at Shadow Cliffs netted 17 GBHE nests and 5 =
DCCO nests. The egrets won't show up until next month.

    Good birding.
