    Hello from San Joaquin County:

    =20

Elionora and I went out at about 1 pm Monday in search of the dark morph
Ferruginous Hawk reported Saturday from the area of mile marker 5.0 (we
only found 4.98 headed west) on Patterson Pass Road. In Alameda County.
We did not see the bird, but the strong winds were working against us.
There were a dozen Red-taileds in the air; generally south of us and far
enough that we didn't get good looks. There were several apparent pairs
of birds, including one pair briefly mobbed what appeared to be an
immature Golden Eagle, which quickly fled.

    =20

We also went up to north Livermore, in the Dalton Road area northward
(west of Vasco) in search of the Prairie Falcon also reported Saturday.
Only found American Kestrels, Mallards, a Red-tailed standing in a
field, several Black-necked Stilts and a Mallard-like bird that, well,
it was raining too hard, too cold, and too windy for me to get the ID.
Did I also mention I was illegally parked?

    =20

    Good Birding,
