    Hi all:

The male TUFTED DUCK continued at Aquatic Park this
afternoon at 5 p.m. This afternoon he was on the west
side of the main lagoon and on the west side of the
island adjacent to the ski jump. This duck is
"showing well". For those who have seen the female
Tufted Duck at Lake Merritt, with the itty-bitty tuft,
this guy's the real deal and worth an extra stop in
    your day's birding.

Speaking of being worth an extra stop, a (the?) female
BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER is at frisbee hole #16
along the east side of the main lagoon, for at least
the 3rd year running. Ken Archimbaud reported this
bird the winter of 2002-2003, and again in 2003-2004.
I hadn't heard a report this winter, and as I
approached the pine tree (sp?) at #16 I thought, "I
wonder if the ...." and about that time she popped up
in the middle of the tree. If wishes were fishes.

And the male and female HOODED MERGANSERS continue in
    lagoon #2 / middle lagoon.

Hope to see you this weekend out birding somewhere,
