Today at high tide (10:00 AM) the Nelson's Sharp-tailed Sparrow was =
again seen at the end of the island just west of the boardwalk. Also =
seen were at least 8 Clapper Rails, 3 Soras, and 1 Virginia Rail. While =
scoping the ducks and gulls in the southern portion of the fenced tidal =
area, I found a juvenile Peregrine Falcon sitting on a small mound of =
dirt across the water. It eventually flew through the Avocet flock in a =
seemingly half-hearted manner, after which it flew across the picnic =
area and on towards the Oakland Estuary. I lost it in the distance, but =
did see the flock of Willets and Godwits down near Harbor Bay Parkway.
