Sighted at the Emeryville Crescent on January 18, along Powell Ave. behind
the Fire Station during the low tide, among the exposed rocks:
A lone Wandering Tattler in the same spot where I had seen one in November.
It was feeding on the rocks near a Blackbellied Plover.
A pair of Black Oystercatchers flew in together to feed on the rocks in the
same spot where I had seen a pair in December. In December I spotted one
feeding. It flew off over the water, squawking, and was joined by another from
further down the shore. They flew in unison, ala Blue Angels, swooping around
and returning to where I had first seen the one. A fun display.
The rest of the shorebirds were the usual Avocets, Willets, Marbled Godwits
and one Whimbrel.
