As advertised on the GGAS website, we will meet at 9:00 a.m. at the Cosumnes
River Preserve Visitor's Center. However, travel instructions posted on the
website should be disregarded, due to a temporary road closure on Franklin
Road. Here are current travel instructions:

Take Interstate 5 to the Twin Cities Road exit (marked with a binoculars
sign for wildlife viewing) about midway between Stockton and Sacramento.
Take Twin Cities Road east for about 2 miles and turn right onto Bruceville
Road. Continue south on Bruceville Road and at the end turn right onto
Desmond Road. Follow Desmond Road for about a mile over the Railroad tracks
and turn left onto Franklin Boulevard. Continue down Franklin Boulevard and
park in the parking lot just past the Visitor Center.

This trip is an excellent opportunity to piggy-back on the Department of
Fish and Games Isenberg (Woodbridge) Crane Reserve Tour. The DFG trip takes
people back to a blind near Woodbridge Road, where observers can watch the
Cranes come into their evening roost around sunset.

NOTE: Participation on the Golden Gate Audubon trip does NOT automatically
sign you up for the DGS tour. You may be able to join the DGS tour on the
spot, but DGS likes to limit participation to 35-40 people. Advance
reservations are recommended. To register for the DGS tour, call Bruce
    Foreman at (916) 358-2353.
