EBBers,
Current restoration work and recent rains have left a few winter =
water pools on the Eastshore State Park grounds along University Ave in =
Berkeley just west of Highway 80. This afternoon one pool was being =
used by several hundred resting and bathing Gulls of five different =
species. An adjacent pool had foraging and resting Greater Yellowlegs, =
Dowitcher sp., Least Sandpipers, Marbled Godwits, Willets, Black-necked =
Stilts, a Snowy Egret, and six species of both dabbling and diving =
ducks. The green grassy strip just south across the road median had two =
Greater White-fronted Geese hanging out with the many Canada Geese.
