EBBers,
This morning at the Albany Bulb (in Albany, exit Highway 80 at Buchanan =
and drive 1/2 mile west to the parking lot) there was a first year =
RED-SHOULDERED HAWK in the willows to the right just before the parking =
lot.
On the walk out to the west end of the Bulb, among the several NORTHERN =
MOCKINGBIRDS, there was one partial albino.
At the west end of the Bulb there were four BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS, a =
BELTED KINGFISHER, and three BLACK TURNSTONES. In the bay from this =
location was a single RED-THROATED LOON.
In the cove just north of the Bulb a persistent immature CLARK'S GREBE =
begged incessantly for food from its parents. This cove is chock full =
of shorebirds and waterbirds this time of year.
Good birding,
Bob Battagin
Oakland, CA
