Birders,
This morning at the south end of S. 32nd St. in Richmond there was a =
YELLOW-SHAFTED FLICKER. It was foraging in a large Myoporum shrub at =
the SE corner of the turn-around that is the southern terminus of S. =
32nd. St. (To reach this location from Oakland, exit Highway 580 at =
Marina Bay Parkway in Richmond, turn left and follow Marina Bay Parkway =
1/2 mile to Regatta Blvd., turn left on Regatta, go approx 1/2 mile to =
S. 32nd. St. and turn right. The end of S. 32nd St is only a couple =
tenths of a mile from the junction with Regatta Blvd.)
At the large vacant lot (this vacant lot has a large blue "Land for =
Sale" sign and a single large Cottonwood tree on it - it is full of =
Fennel) located on Regatta Blvd. just a couple tenths of a mile east of =
Marina Bay Parkway there were a large number of White-crowned Sparrows, =
Golden-crowned Sparrows, and House Finches. A NASHVILLE WARBLER was =
with a small flock of Orange-crowned and Yellow-rumped Warblers. I =
counted over a dozen passerine species foraging here. A Cooper's Hawk =
observed from a not too distant Eucalyptus tree. =20
Good birding,
