Today 10/4 around the noon hour in Fremont, on Fremont Ave and Gateway
Ave in the sky there was 15 White Pelicans in a flight circle mixed in
with a few dozen gulls. It was the lunch hour and I was driving to lunch
so I was unable to ID the Gulls.

Subject: [EBB Sightings] white pelicans in San Pablo Reservoir
Walking on Inspiration Trail from Inspiration Point at Wildcat Canyon
Road this morning, before reaching San Pablo Dam Road, I saw six White
Pelicans resting on the shore near the southern end of San Pablo
Reservoir.
Also, there was a flurry of activities in a pond to the southeast of the
trail. At one point, the tiny pond had 5 species:
Great Blue Heron,
Mallard, a pair
Killdeer, 2
Greater Yellowlegs,
Spotted Sandpiper
Later a Black Phoebe showed up briefly, and a male American Kestrel
tried and failed to catch any of the Western Meadowlarks foraging on the
shore of the pond.
Inspiration Trail is in EBMUD watershed; hiking permit is required.
