Today I changed my brand of birdseed.  I bought some which is a combination of sunflower, berries and dried fruit.  Looks sort of like trail mix.
 
In any case, the birds approve.
 
A few moments ago I counted about 30 house finches, 4 chickadees, 2 oak titmice, 10 American goldfinches (at the thistle feeder), 3 goldencrowned sparrows, 1 white crowned sparrow, 6 California towhees, 3 house sparrows, 1 mourning dove, a scrub jay at the bird bath, and my first backyard junco of the season.
 
For those of you who stopped by to see the Harris' sparrow last year, I'll keep my eyes open and let you know if it reappears.
