Hi batty Birders!
Perhaps we should put out a feeler to form a bat group. We love bats, and put
up a bat house but with no luck getting them to roost. It's been up for years
now and probably isn't in the right place or maybe there are chemical
attractants, like guano.
We live close to a year round flowing creek in El Cerrito, and we have a
garden pond.
I understand bats like to be near water, but then again, I was working at Cal
Shakes over the last couple of weeks in Orinda, and when the evening gets
going the bats turn out in droves! They like the bugs attracted to the stage
lights. many swooped within inches of the unsuspecting audience. Probably going
after bugs attracted to body heat. Any rate please include me in the Bat Lady
forums!!!!!
