    Hi EBBs,

The bird continued to be present from about 12:30 to 1:30pm this =
afternoon. He was foraging around in the described area for quite some =
time, unfazed by flying kites, and people and dogs on the paved walking =
path. We got very good views until he decided to hunker down in the =
grass at about 1:15. We could then barely see the top of his head and =
his eye through the scope. We located him for a birder who arrived =
after he hunkered down. I hope that he finally showed himself to the =
birder who was patiently waiting for him to pop up. There were also =
several Savannah sparrows feeding in the same area. So far this year we =
have tracked down and seen 2 out of 3 unusual birds reported, the snow =
bunting and the Lapland Longspur, thanks to the East Bay Birders!

    Good luck!

    Laura Gee

      Hi East Bay Birders,

The Lapland Longspur was seen again early this morning from 7:57 to =
8:30. We were lucky to get such generous views all within the specified =
area per Denise White's excellent directions.

      HAPPY BIRDING!
