    Birds cannot transmit WNV to each other, nor to humans, nor humans to humans.  Only the mosquito can do this.
    
    While it's always a good idea to keep bird feeders clean, clean feeders do not protect against WNV.  Better to check our yards for small containers that collect sprinkler water, etc. so mosquito larvae do not get a start.  Use mosquito dunks in standing water bodies such as water gardens.
