The immature Summer Tanager was still present this morning in Tilden Regional Park.
I take it this is in Contra Costa County. The original message to the Northern California BirdBox stated Alameda County.

Many people don't realize that nearly all of Tilden Regional Park, Sibley Volcanic Regional Preserve, and Huckleberry Botanic Regional Preserve are in Contra Costa County, as is the northern half of Redwood Regional Park. If you're into county listing, check the maps carefully when considering birds along the Berkeley Hills.

Gyrfalcon lost in San Jose
Tue, 28 Mar 2000 08:00:07 -0800
From: Philip Maynard
While out hiking in Miller/Knox Regional Park in Richmond I was very surprised to see a Harris Hawk on a picnic table. (???) Then the falconer came by and explained that he uses the hawk and other raptors in a demonstration to school children, but he said that he recently lost a Gyrfalcon down by San Jose.
He is very upset about losing this bird, he was very nice to me, so I told him I would send out this message in the hope that some birder might spot his falcon and give him a call.
The bird is a Gyr X Lanner (more white than gray), he lost it on Wednesday March 22, at Baylands Park in San Jose (it could be anywhere around south bay). It has a bell or a transmitter on it. If anyone spots such a bird would you please call Ray Pena (cellular) 904-679-4265, (home/message ) 914-255-5906. He will be at Point Richmond till Thursday March 30.
Also could someone please post this message to the Santa Clara County / South Bay bird list. Thank you.

Just south of the mouth of San Leandro Marina is a small island (at least at high tide - it is landbridged at low tide). Today it had a Wandering Tattler and 2 Surfbirds.

At Round Valley Regional Park yesterday, there were Bullock's Oriole males and a Western Kingbird. Bullock's Orioles arrived at my home in Lafayette along Las Trampas Creek 3 days ago.
