Today we birded for several hours in White Canyon in Mt. Diablo S.
    P. In addition to 26 other species, we had good views of two Varied
Thrushes and a pair of California Thrashers. The Varied Thrushes
were observed from Red Road where the habitat changes from chaparral
to a dense mixed oak/pine woodland with thick understory near the
adjacent creek. The wildflowers in MItchell Canyon, White Canyon and
along the Globe Lily Trail are really starting to put on a show.

    Happy Spring and Good Birding,
