Today I birded the area between Mitchell Canyon Entrance and Donner Creek from about 10:00 am to 2:30 pm. Mostly open oak woodlands and open fields. Stunningly beautiful day, the key is water. Plant life is lush and saturated. Colors intense! The creeks are running. The Buckeyes are leafing out, Dodecatheon, Dichelostema, Delphinium, poppies and more are in flower.

Afterward I walked up Mitchell Canyon about 2 miles with few birding results.
