Inspired by Kirk's Emeryville Warbler posting a few days ago I set out to see my first Black-Throated Gray Warbler. I stopped by Hollis-Doyle Park in Emeryville and shortly thereafter spotted a PALM WARBLER forging with YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS in a tree at the corner of Hollis and 61st St. Before departing the area I would re-find the Palm Warbler numerous times. It made me wonder if there was more than one of them at the park. I walked down the street to Hertiage Square where Kirk described where to find the Black Throated Gray Warbler. No luck after spending a hour looking.

Last night Bob Dunn posted that he successfully located the BT Gray so I headed back to Hertiage Square this morning. The rain was just starting an after a bit I decided to depart because other things await. Then I heard that call that I had studied, turned back and followed the call. Finally, a BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER was sitting there waiting for me. I was able to photograph but didn't get a great shot. Both birds can seen at the link below.
