Another question: is there another bird that looks very much like a
Bewick's wren, or is the following a seasonal or regional thing ->
white eyebrow, but entire head, including chin a brown color; brown
upper & wings. I had the impression that the entire bird was brown,
but that may have been because of the head, and maybe it was just that
the entire side of the head was brown. The chin and front could have
been grey but I've only seen the bird from the side, oddly enough. I
couldn't make out a stripey/spotted tail or any wagging of its tail,
and I particularly looked for those features. In the fall, I saw this
bird, whatever it is, high up in our redwood, singing, and it
certainly sounded like a Bewick's wren. Now, it is behaving properly,
if it's a Bewick's wren, foraging on the ground. But it hasn't been
singing on the ground. Any ideas?
