While out hiking on Mt. Diablo today we were treated to two special birds
not often seen.   California Thrasher off of the upper end of Wall Point
Ridge fire road and a Hairy Woodpecker on the Secret Trail which goes off of
Wall Point Ridge over to Barbecue Terrace.  We also encountered numerous
other birds which we see all the time and we heard an owl off in the woods
but did not see it.
