Today we did a mid-morning visit to Contra Loma Regional Park in  
Antioch.

In addition to the usual suspects, we had good views of an American  
Bittern, Sora, Ring-necked Pheasant and Golden Eagle.  The following  
pairs of birds were also observed: White-tailed Kites, Red-shouldered  
Hawks, American Kestrels and Common Ravens.  Tree Sparrows have  
arrived and appear to be scouting out the Western Bluebird nesting  
boxes.
