Sorry for the delayed post, I had a difficult time subscribing to EBB, but I
observed a female Ruff (Reeve) at the southern most pond in the Berkeley
Aquatic Park on Saturday Feb. 20th. The bird was hanging out with a small
group of greater yellowlegs on a small exposed mudflat. This is about 100
ft away from where the Northern Waterthrush is being seen. I took several
photos and have posted some of them at
    http://picasaweb.google.com/zachary.baer2/RuffAtBerkeleyAquaticGardens# . I
returned the next day to try and re-find the bird but was unsuccessful since
the mudflats were not exposed, so you may want to try low tide.
