I managed to catch some photos of the fly catcher on Sunday with some nice
flaring of feathers and yawns - have not had a chance to clean up yet.
While quite cooperative, it was to the left down the path, versus to the
right where I had seen previously.

Others also reported that the area on top was quite birdy, directly beyond
the T intersection there is another trail (or part of the same) that the
brush was full of a variety of species including nuthatches, Nuttalls
woodpecker, brown creepers, and at least 3 warblers: yellow rumped,
Thompsons, and one I am still working on the photos. Also chickadees, oak
titmouse (is plural titmice?!), bush tits, and CA towhees. I got a quick
look at the merlin as well.
