Thank you for letting us know about Kris.  Like the rest of you, I was shocked and dismayed to hear the news.  I never met Kris in person, but she was such a help to me through her postings and the photos that she shared on peninsula birds. I attribute my life-list northern waterthrush - the bird that was in Half Moon Bay, along the creek - to her.  Her personal coaching and assistance helped me to find that bird.  I think that it is a fitting tribute to Kris that a fellow birder would associate one, brilliant bird with her forever. My sincere sympathies go out to her family and friends.
