This morning I stopped at a small freshwater pond at the Western end of Stevenson Street in Fremont, adjacent to the Don Edwards NWR. To my surprise, there were hundreds of ducks and geese in this little 1 acre pond, including 1 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE, 125 CANADA GEESE, 1 BLUE-WINGED TEAL, 9 CINNAMON TEAL, 70 GREEN-WINGED TEAL, & 5 COMMON MERGANSERS. There were also Mallards & Northern Shoveler, along with 1 GREATER YELLOWLEGS & 12 BLACK-NECKED STILTS.
Quite a mix for a small area in a small pond adjacent to an industial park.

    Good Birding,
