    The pix look like shots of one of the Saffron Finches that have been 
    seen in that area off and on over the past year or so.
    
    I can see where tanager would leap to mind, but this bird's beak is a 
    chunky finch triangle instead of a tanager's curve, and the wing and 
    tail feathers have way too much yellow.
    
    The last several sightings before this were of a pair of birds.... 
    Wonder if the weather or something got one of them.
