[EBB Sightings] Mew Musings

I just took a morning stroll around San Pablo park. The lawns are covered with Ring-billed and Mew Gulls (60/40) foraging for oxygen deprived worms and other delicacies. Hundreds of gulls, and all of them adults. 100%. Seems so odd that ages would segregate this way. You'd think the young ones would follow the adults in.

I have to wonder if flooded lawns don't concentrate Mews. In shoreline birding I see a few here, a few there; Nothing like this concentration.
