We biked and birded Sycamore Grove Park in Livermore for the first time the
    other day.

It's a lovely park with a great, flat, paved bike path that runs for several
miles along a creek down to the VA Hospital/Wente Vineyards south of
Livermore. The path runs through a large stand of sycamores, and is adjacent
to pastures, vineyards, and orchards, and ends up in pine-oak woods.

Although we didn't see any rarities, we did see lots of typical winter
    birds, viz:

          California Quail

          Turkey Vulture

          White-tailed Kite

          Accipiter sp

          Red-shouldered Hawk

          Red-tailed Hawk

          American Kestrel

          Mourning Dove

          Anna's Hummingbird

          Acorn Woodpecker

          Nuttall's Woodpecker

          Northern Flicker

          Black Phoebe

          Loggerhead Shrike

          Western Scrub Jay

          Yellow-billed Magpie

          White-breasted Nuthatch
