At about 3:00 pm (yesterday Thurs Dec 10) the male Tufted Duck continued at Lake Merritt in Oakland.? The bird was near the junction of Lake Shore Drive and Wesley St in the SE lobe of the lake.? I located only one Barrow's Goldeneye, although I did not have much time to search. No sign of the Redhead.

At my apartment in downtown Berkeley today I had a new yard bird (17 years of tracking)--Western Bluebird.? Other observers around the SF Bay area have noticed an incursion of them this winter.
