[EBB Sightings] Union City ducks

The drake WOOD DUCK has returned to the pond at the Union City main offices (corner of Alvarado Niles & Royal Ann) for another winter it looks like. Also present was a female HOODED MERGANSER. At first glance I thought this duck to be a 1st winter male because of a wide white edge to the back of the crown. However, the bill had extensive yellow & the overall coloring on the body, neck & face was a dark gray. Interesting bird.
