    You have to fight to keep your catch out there. But, these Ring-bills didn't succeed in getting the Forster's to drop its catch.
    
    I witnessed the battle, as you have too. 
    
    Tiny dots in the picture...I put a composite together of their unsuccessful and raucous aerobatic pursuit. 
    
    Can you imagine? It may only be a matter of time before walking to the car with sushi-takeout is a battle with gulls.

    On the other hand, on the same day, I did see two Ring-bills 'tern' for successful catches of Sculpin on their own. They are not totally opportunistic.
    
    A walk along the San Leandro Bay Channel on Bay Farm Island had little evidence of the oil spill though there were workers and blocking floats to intercede.  I did see one Black Oystercatcher, and I think, female Goldeneyes...without binocs.
