This morning for several minutes, we watched an American Bittern stalking through the reeds at Contra Loma Reservoir in Antioch.?At one point, a?Great Blue Heron, a Green Heron and the Bittern formed a triangle?as they hunted in the pools of mud and water about 5 feet apart.?
    ?
The Bittern was walking?in the flattened reeds on the left side of Loma Island near the tip of the island.
    ?
In addition to the reservoir's usual?resident birds, we saw two Tufted Titmice,?two Belted Kingfishers, four Forster's Terns,?and seven Snipes.
