[EBB Sightings] Update on the new Eastern Alameda County CBC

Dear Birders, 

The planning of our first Eastern Alameda County Christmas Bird Count
(EAC-CBC) continues, with a set date of Friday, December 18th.

The National Audubon Society has certified our count circle as being
non-intrusive into other circles and our circle map has been divided into
29 sections. 

If you can identify local bird species and count, WE NEED YOUR HELP!

A pre-meeting with Section Leaders and counters will be held Sunday,
December 13th in Pleasanton (location & time TBD) will be hosted by Jeff
Miller and my self.

We have several birders with specific knowledge of these sections and are
in need of more section leaders, and counters both. 

In addition, some areas such as Pleasanton Ridge EBRP, Sunol Regional Park,
Ohlone Wilderness, Del Valle EBRP and Shadow Cliffs EBRP are huge and will
require lots of help to count. 

Please consider joining the kick off of the EAC-CBC. 

It is a chance to get outdoors and begin a new CBC birding tradition while
providing important data to help protect the health of our local bird
populations.
