After Pat Bacchetti and I spent two hours or so not seeing the Black-
throated Blue at Coyote Hills, we went to Alameda for high tide.

Two Common Terns were on the concrete breakwater at the northernmost
end of the Elsie Roemer Bird Sanctuary, mixed in with Forester's. The
sanctuary itself and the beach just beyond the breakwater had maybe
300 Western Sandpipers, about 100 Black-bellied Plovers, more than
100 Double-crested Cormorants, about 100 Least Sandpipers, and a good
number of Sanderlings. There were also 2 Dunlins, the first I've seen
this season. An Elegant Tern slipped in just as we were leaving.

Last Thursday, after an airport drop-off, I birded the same spot and
located a single Common Tern among Forester's and Elegants, along
with similar numbers of shorebirds, but got distracted and forgot to
    post.
