On a very windy day at Coyote Hills, the birds were generally keeping a low profile. But thanks to Dave Weber who immediately pointed out the single White-throated Sparrow along the fence to the left of the Visitor's Center entrance. Not much else was happening in that part of the park, perhaps due to the large number of school children who were visiting.

Things picked up around the Quarry parking lot, though. There were several large groups of crowned sparrows and Yellow-rumped Warblers feeding together on the hillside, but I didn't find a 2nd White-throat in the crowd. In the dry monkey flowers above the sparrows, two Blue-gray Gnatcatchers were mewing quietly and feeding. And out on the fence of the parking lot, a FOS Say's Phoebe was fly-catching as best as it could in the wind.

    Good birding,
