As noted in the GGAS Gull, and on www.wingbeats.org, there is a field trip
on 9/27 in memory of Luke. The starting place has caused some confusion.
The trip will start at MLK shoreline at the Arrowhead Marsh parking lot.
Here is a description of the trip, and how to get to the starting place.

Alameda County Big Day - September 27, 9:00 am to exhaustion

Leader: Bob Lewis. We'll meet at MLK Shoreline at 9:00 AM, and for those
interested, continue on to Garin RP and finish at Coyote Hills RP. Bring
lunch and liquids. This field trip is part of the Luke Cole "400 Species
$40,000 Memorial Challenge," a benefit for the Center on Race, Poverty and
the Environment (CRPE), founded by Luke over 20 years ago. The challenge is
to find 400 species in the state of California, and raise money for his
center. We'll do our part in Alameda County, and hope to find a few species
that will help get the team to 400. Please expect to contribute $25 to
participate, payable to GGAS (which will be transferred 100% to CRPE).

The meeting place is the Arrowhead Marsh parking lot of MLK Shoreline: Take
Hwy 880 toward the Oakland Airport. Exit at Hegenberger Road. Turn right
onto Hegenberger and continue 0.7 mile across a small bridge to Pardee Drive
and turn right. Continue to Swan Way and turn left. Shortly thereafter turn
right into the East Bay Regional Shoreline. Continue to the parking lot at
    the end of the road.

NOTE: I will probably start myself at the end of Edgewater at about 8, in
hopes of adding a species or two to our list. Also note, as readers of this
list surely know - there have been Pectoral Sandpipers sighted at Coyote
    Hills.

    Regards,
    Bob Lewis
