This evening around 5:30 PM I found Kathy's pectoral sandpipers - two birds -?on the muddy chunks of Main Marsh east of the?dirt-and-gravel trail very near to its junction with the main park road by the Visitor Center. My National Geographic Complete Birds states that males are notably larger than females, and one of these birds is quite a bit bigger than the other. I'm happy to say that I got decent digiscoped photos to share, for once.

The large patch of fennel where this trail turns by Lizard Rock was teaming with birds this evening, including yellow warblers, orange-crowned warblers, Lincoln's sparrows, song sparrows, bushtits and lesser goldfinches.

    Hi birders,

I found a juvenile PECTORAL? SANDPIPER at Coyote Hills yesterday evening
around 6 pm.? It was in the? part of the main marsh that still contains water
(east of the Chochenyo? Trail).? It was seen in the company of both Killdeer
and Least? Sandpipers.? A Northern Harrier came through at one point and
flushed all? the birds, but the PESA returned after the commotion.

    Good? birding,
    Kathy Robertson
    Hayward, CA?
