[EBB Sightings] The Owl and the Hummingbirds

Hi all,

My resident Western Screech-owl is not happy. Two Anna's hummingbirds  
are keeping it at bay this evening, not letting the owl peek out of  
its nest/roosting box as it normally does. I've watched hummingbirds  
attack Red-tailed Hawks and Turkey Vultures and I'm always surprised  
by their tenaciousness. Tonight I watched them hover around the  
entrance, poking at the owl every time it tried to look out. Finally,  
the owl just went back inside and waited for the gloaming to darken  
enough for the hummingbirds to head to their roosts. . . .
