The first Hermit Thrush appeared in my yard today (Oakland hills), the earliest since 1991.  Previous earliest was 9/27/1998.  That makes 2 early birds, the other was a Ruby-crowned Kinglet on 8/23 (previous earliest was 9/9/2002).  There are still Black-headed Grosbeaks here as well.
