[EBB Sightings] Lesser Nighthawks, Byron--NOT

Last year I went twice to see Lesser Nighthawks in Byron, once on July 6 and 
again on July 23.  Deciding that tonight would be a good time to try again, 
I made arrangements to meet Paul and Nancy Schorr at the east end of Camino 
Diablo in Byron.

While we had a nice time watching the Killdeer, Stilts, Avocets, Shrikes and 
Dunlin fly around the sewer pond area, we did not find any Lesser Nighthawks 
between a little before 8 and about 9 PM.

A Mockingbird was hanging around, a Kite and Northern Harrier came past, but 
despite scanning the southern horizon relentlessly, we had no luck.

Paul finally was bothered by the mosquitoes, and when Nancy spied a skunk on 
the edge of the bamboo-like thicket next to the green gate, we decided to 
call it a night.
