[EBB Sightings] Yet another kildeer chick

Today in Cesar Chavez Park, on the trail up to the off the leash area,
there were two adult killdeer with a chick. The adults were pretending
to be injured & skittering away from us. Of course they kept going right
up the path, and I didn't want to forge through the brush, so this went
on for a while.

I put Gustave back on his leash, just in case, but he just ignored them.

Unfortunately, the chick didn't get it. It kept on trying to stay with
with its parents. It just didn't get with the program. I was starting to
think I'd have to turn around and go back in order to save the day, but
finally it swerved into the grass, far enough for us to pass, and after
a minute the parents, having saved their chick, took off.
