[EBB Sightings] California Thrashers

Over the last 18 years we used to receive a number of?sightings each year, mainly from Lafayette, Walnut Creek and Pleasant Hill.? Most of the reports were in the spring.? I think people noticed the vocalizations.? The birds were also reported foraging under the feeders.

In the last?few years we have only had 2 reports.

Dear Birders:

Recently I've been paying special attention to California Thrashers hearing them sometimes in the upper reaches of Strawberry Canyon and in Tilden Park.
In reading descriptions (Birds of North American online) and in early 20th century reports from Strawberry Canyon, mention is made of them coming into local gardens and even visiting feeders.? 

Has anyone had thrashers in their gardens?? My sense is that they have pretty much retreated to "wild lands."
